Jackknife — where it appears

An articulated vehicle folded to a large hitch angle, which is a stable equilibrium of reversing rather than a configuration the mechanism cannot leave. It is an equilibrium rather than a lock: the mechanism can be driven out of it forwards, and the instability that gets a driver there is a property of reversing.

The sentence is false of every wheeled mechanism in this field and true of exactly one — the trolley bolted to a rail.
