Blocking — where it appears

The relation that holds when one part stops another from moving in a stated direction. A cycle in it means no member of the cycle can move that way, and an assembly whose blocking is cyclic in every direction cannot be taken apart one piece at a time.

A joint with no way out in the plane it is drawn in. A dovetail. The tail is wider at its far end than at the mouth it went in through, so every direction out of the mouth is blocked by a slanted face and every direction further in is blocked by the floor.
